Take the story of Angelo who enrolled in a degree he doesn’t know much about but he is foresters board exam top 5. He even graduated cum laude, and he really wanted to top the board.

Enrolling in a Degree Program He Didn’t Know Much About

Angelo Lozano confesses that initially, as a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-North La Union Campus in Bacnotan, La Union, he had no idea that a degree program related to forestry even existed.

In a report by The Summit Express, he originally intended to pursue Nursing and considered switching to another degree program, but over time, he grew to enjoy his studies, particularly the company of his classmates.

He said that even though he didn’t know much about the degree program he chose, he is simply grateful for his classmates who served as his support system throughout his studies.

Struggles: Financial and Shifting to Face-to-Face

Like many students, Lozano faced financial difficulties, with his mother, an OFW, supporting both his education and that of his younger sibling.

Fortunately, he received a scholarship from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), which helped cover his expenses.

Lozano admitted that he thrived during online classes in the pandemic, but struggled when the shift back to face-to-face learning occurred. He even expressed to his mother that he might not graduate as a cum laude, voicing his concerns.

He Registered for the Board and Envisions Himself as Topnotcher

Thankfully, his mother continued to encourage and support him in every way, especially financially, despite her own struggles with his sibling’s education. Lozano was deeply moved when his mother gave him money for the registration fee for the board exam, which had to be filed in Baguio.

Lozano confessed that he had long envisioned becoming a topnotcher.

He dedicated three months to self-review and approached it with full commitment.

This dream, a promise he made to his mother, was not only to graduate as a cum laude but also to top the board exam—and he succeeded.
