The Unserious Student

In a Facebook post on November 29, 2024, Yamson revealed that Nursing was not her first choice in college.

During her academic journey, she was known among her peers as an “unserious student.” She often skipped classes, missed deadlines, and struggled to find fulfillment in her studies.

To discover her true passion, she juggled working while pursuing her degree. Now, after achieving success in the board exam, she sees how everything aligned with God’s plan for her life.

Juggling Work and College

It can be read, “Nursing was never my choice in college. Throughout my years, I was well known as an ‘unserious” student. I would often skip class or miss assignments. In reality, I was looking for something that fulfilled me.”

“In my first and second year, I ventured into other paths in life, trying to see where my heart would settle. I picked up odd jobs, teaching stints, and became a virtual assistant for a year, all while being a student.

“The thought of quitting crossed my mind multiple times. I felt no drive, passion, or motivation.”

A Small Fire of Hope

“The four months of my review contained some of the hardest moments of my life. What began as a seed of doubt sprouted into a great tree. I considered delaying the exam, or even not taking it at all. But deep within me, there was a small fire of hope. I truly believe that God has a reason for why I’m here.”

She emphasized, “Lord, you are truly the maker of miracles. There are no words to capture the emotions in me. I am overwhelmingly grateful for the people that have supported me and believed in me despite the ups and downs of my journey.”

“Lord, this is all for you. You have given me the greatest gift of all—purpose,” she said.

Congratulations, Nurse Alexandra!
